Located in Western Asia, Iran is important in international energy security and world economy. It is the 18th largest country in the world with a population of over 81 million and dates back to 2800 BC.

Culture is an important part of Iran today, with nearly 5000 years of history to draw upon. The people of Iran have an interesting way of life, something that international students from outside of Western Asia may have never experienced. Having said that, immersing yourself in a new and unknown culture is a fantastic way to open your eyes and get a truly different study experience.

The official religion of the country is Shia Islam, but you will find people who follow other branches of Islam, as well as Christianity and Judaism. Religion plays a large part in the country’s culture, art, education and government.

You have an endless number of choices to enjoy all types of delicious edibles.
